Event – Physics is involved in both Explore SDSU: Open House and Sciences Sampler on this Saturday 20th March 2010. 9.30am-3pm (all day) there will be Faculty members along with our Society of Physics students on hand at the ‘Physics <–> Accelerating your Universe’ information stall, as part of the Science and Technology Village. 12pm-12.50pm in Hepner Hall Room 130: Prof. Fridolin Weber will present a fascinating talk on ‘From Atoms to Stars’ at a level accessible to the general public.
12pm-4pm in the Physics-Astronomy building Room 215: Prof. Torikachvili presents ‘The Cool World of Cryogenics’. Including: 1- ice cream making and tasting, 2- superconducting levitation, 3- balloon freezing, 4- electrostatic charge separation, 5- other cool stuff.
